19th Euroconference on Apoptosis “Metabolism, Epigenetics and Cell Death” 8th Training course on 'Concepts and Methods in Programmed Cell Death' September 14-17, 2011 Stockholm, Sweden |
|
General informationBook of abstracts
The aim of the training course is to introduce young scientists into the current concepts, methodologies and tools used in the study of programmed cell death. Lecturers in this training course will present a 35 minute seminar, followed by a 10 minute discussion. The sessions are intended to provide a general review of the literature, recent techniques and methodologies in cell death research, in combination with the opportunity to discuss afterwards. TopicsCell death pathways in lungJosef Penninger (Vienna, Austria) How do cells respond to bioenergetic stress? Jochen Prehn (Dublin, Ireland) Membrane remodeling by Bcl-2 family members to control apoptosis Jean-Claude Martinou (Geneva, Switzerland) High accuracy mass spectrometry-based quantitative proteomics for the large-scale analysis of site-specific protein phosphorylation and acetylation dynamics in autophagy Jens Andersen (Odense, Denmark) Autophagy and its assessment in mammalian cells Hans-Uwe Simon (Bern, Switzerland)
The conference will end with an ECDO Keynote Lecture presented by Michael G. Rosenfeld (California, USA) The ECDO Honorary Lecture will be presented by Dr. Klaus-Michael Debatin (Ulm, Germany) in the late afternoon of Friday September 16. The conference ends on Saturday September 17 around 13:00. Conference themes
